Any mutations, including single- or multiple-site deletions, insertions, or substitutions, are introduced into a customer's gene of interest. If no sequencing data is provided by customers, the samples provided for mutagenesis will go through an initial QC by DNA sequencing. Upon completion of the project, the introduced mutations are confirmed by sequencing, and sequences from "before and after" are compared to ensure that only target mutations have been introduced. Customers are provided with plasmid DNA containing the modified gene, as well as all collected sequence data pertaining to their gene.
Eton's site-directed mutagenesis service includes:
- Design, synthesis, and purification of mutagenic oligonucleotide primers
- PCR amplification
- Transformation
- Plasmid isolation
- Sequence verification
Pricing
- $400 per mutation
- Discounts available for large projects (i.e. multiple mutations)
- ** Turnaround time: 15 business days
